Why The Twinkie Went Bankrupt

The Twinkie is said to last on store shelves for 100 years. I never truly believed this, but it’s what all my friends told me when I first heard about the tasty cake treat from Hostess. Then it begs the question, if it lasts for 100 years on the shelf of a store, how long does it last inside your stomach. I don’t think this answer has ever been scientifically examined, but it should have been. The answer may never come as Hostess has filed for bankruptcy this morning and the future of the Twinkie is uncertain. The mystery may never be solved or has it been? Either way, Hostess will no longer exist, at least not in it’s current form. The reason the company is giving for filing for bankruptcy is that it’s workers, who are on strike, Read more [...]

How’s The Weather For Your Showings This Weekend?

Here at the CTMLS we are very lucky to have some incredibly talented people. We have skilled membership people, a great compliance department, technology gurus and even billing experts, but the talents of our staff go well beyond MLS duties. Sometimes these talents come in very handy. Take for instance our Billing Assistant, Kathryn Kane, not only is she tremendous at her day to day job, but she keeps the office informed of impending weather on a regular basis. On a daily basis she gets bombarded with questions like, how much snow are we going to get, is it going to rain, how hot is it going to be this weekend. She dutifully answers all of these questions with a smile and an accuracy that I’ve never seen before. With her forecasts Read more [...]

We Need One MLS Website

Forward The purpose of this white paper is to raise awareness that the MLS industry needs one national MLS public website to be competitive online. While there has been some debate over the years, the evidence supporting the benefits of MLS public websites has become overwhelming for even the most hardened skeptics.
