WHO? You, as a member of CTMLS, must change your own password when it expires. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and you must not let anyone else use it. WHAT? CTMLS requires all of our members to change their password once every six months. This is done to ensure the security of your computer account. WHEN? Every six months CTMLS members must change their passwords used to access MLXchange. When you are prompted to change your password, you can follow these simple steps to change it seamlessly. WHERE? On MLXchange. When your password expires, a message will pop up asking you to change it. Follow the prompts to enter your old password and create a new one. If you have forgotten your old password, just call the CTMLS office (203-697-1006) and we’ll tell you what it is. WHY? The main reason for regular password changes is to limit an account’s exposure to misuse. If another person gets your password either by guessing or stealing it, he/she can access your account as long as your password is valid. Since we require you to update your password every six months, the unauthorized user will have only limited use of your password. After that, it’s useless. If you believe that your password has been compromised, you can change it at any time by clicking on the “Settings” radio button at the top right corner of the home page of MLXchange, then “Personalize” and “Change Password.” Remember: Your password should be treated like your toothbrush – do not share and change every six months!
